Lot 375 Details
CHÂTEAU LA MISSION HAUT-BRION 1998 (1)
Pessac-Léognan. 1er Cru Classé
The 1998 La Mission Haut-Brion is deep garnet-brick colored with a pretty perfume of potpourri, spice box, menthol, sandalwood, tobacco and new leather. The palate is medium-bodied and elegant with tons of fragrant layers, finishing with loads of mineral and tons of energy. Drink up to 2030. May 2018 WA 97
CHÂTEAU PONTET-CANET 1995 (1)
Pauillac. 5ième Cru Classé
scuffed label
An old style Pauillac, yet made with far more purity and richness than the estate's ancient vintages, this broad-shouldered, muscular, classic wine exhibits a saturated purple color, and sensationally dense, rich, concentrated, cassis flavors that roll over the palate with impressive purity and depth. The wine is tannic and closed, but powerful and rich. It appears to possess length and intensity similar to the 1996. This is a great young Pauillac. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2025. WA 92
LE VIEUX DONJON CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2009 (1)
Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
marked label
Also gorgeous, but in a more forward, perfumed style, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape is loaded with kirsch, wild strawberry, licorice, Asian spice and wild herb-like aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, sweetly fruited, voluptuous and textured, it’s hard to resist now, but will age gracefully. August 2014 WA 94
