Note:
A label on the reverse of this artwork explains, “Having trailed a moose until the harassing of the dogs forces its collapse, a team of six Algonkian hunters close in for the kill.
They will strip the animal of its hide, feed some of the moose to the dogs, and then a cache remains for the woman to gather and bring back to the camp on sleds.
The hunters continue to seek further prey.”
